Christmas Revision Courses

Main page content (1 column)

We have a week of Christmas revision this year, Mon 18th to Fri 22nd December.  The programme runs as day, or half-day, sessions, with three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon (with a break!).  It is normally all-day sessions for a group of students, or half-day sessions for individual tuition.  Students can sign up for as many as they like.  Refreshments are provided, and lunch for those here over lunchtime.

Each session will typically concentrate on one A Level paper or GCSE subject, but within that there is flexibility possible, since we keep the numbers small.  Depending upon the need, tutors will be covering synoptically the relevant area of the syllabus dealing with gaps in coverage or understanding; practising typical questions; working on question and overall exam technique; doing focused work on specific concerns students have; and of course generally challenging and encouraging and adapting to particular requirements.

These sessions are particularly useful for jump-starting one’s own revision; preparing for mock exams; filling in gaps from earlier in the year; giving that overview grasp that is needed to move on with confidence and sometimes is not gained when overwhelmed by detail in the middle or beginning  of a new course.

Thanks for everything. We are so happy with Collingham. Our son has learned so much this year. We could not be happier with the teaching or the pastoral care.
