A Dynamic and Disciplined Start to GCSE Study
Our Year 9 programme offers students aged 13+ an outstanding pre-GCSE year. With a broad and engaging curriculum of up to nine subjects, students begin to build a strong foundation in core academic areas while developing the study skills, curiosity and independence that will support their GCSE success. All students follow a broad curriculum that includes:
- Mathematics
- English Language & English Literature
- All Sciences
- A range of Humanities, including Religious Studies
- A Modern Language
- Creative Arts
- Games as part of our commitment to physical & mental wellbeing
- PSHE (Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education
Teaching is focused and forward-looking—drawing on GCSE-level material to provide meaningful academic stretch without the immediate pressure of exams. By the end of Year 11, most students at Collingham will have taken eight or nine GCSEs or IGCSEs, typically including:
- Mathematics
- English
- At least one Science
- A Humanities subject
- A Modern Language
