Supporting the Whole Student

At Collingham Kensington, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that academic success flourishes when students feel safe, supported, and understood. Our approach is highly personalised, with strong relationships, clear communication, and thoughtful guidance underpinning the student experience.

The Role of the Personal Tutor

Every student is assigned a personal tutor who:

> Meets with the student weekly

> Oversees academic progress and wellbeing

> Acts as a mentor, advocate and point of contact

> Communicates regularly with parents and subject tutors

This system allows us to provide consistent, informed support throughout a student’s time at Collingham Kensington.

Individualised Support

We take the time to get to know each student—their interests, challenges, and goals. We can tailor timetables, offer additional academic or emotional support, and provide referrals to external specialists when needed.

Support may include:

> Study Skills coaching

> Counselling referrals

> SEN or EHCP support

> Guidance with personal and social challenges

A Culture of Care

Our college culture is calm, respectful and inclusive. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own wellbeing while knowing that trusted adults are always available to help.

Parent Communication

Parents are valued partners in pastoral care. In addition to regular progress reports and Parents’ Evenings, we welcome families to reach out at any time to discuss concerns or seek advice.
