Gaining a place at the University of Oxford or Cambridge requires more than just excellent grades. It demands independent thought, intellectual flexibility, and the ability to communicate ideas with clarity and depth. At Collingham Kensington, our Oxbridge Preparation Programme provides high-achieving students with the expert guidance and challenge they need to excel at every stage of the application process.

We support applications across a wide range of subjects, from the humanities and sciences to languages, law, and economics.

Who is it for?

Our Oxbridge programme is designed for students who:

> Demonstrate consistently high academic performance

> Show curiosity and commitment to their chosen subject

> Are aiming to apply to Oxford or Cambridge (or both, depending on subject)

Students may be invited to join based on GCSE results, A Level performance, or tutor recommendation. International students are also welcome.

What Does the Programme Involve?

1. Application Strategy

We help students choose the right college and course, understand differences in course structure, and make strategic decisions about their UCAS application.

2. Super-Curricular Development

Students are supported in reading widely, attending subject lectures, engaging with academic journals, and developing informed personal interests beyond the syllabus.

3. Admissions Test Preparation

We offer tailored preparation for subject-specific tests including:

  • TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment)
  • ENGAA, NSAA, MAT, STEP, ELAT, HAT, PAT and others

Students complete past papers under timed conditions, review their answers with tutors, and develop critical and analytical thinking skills.

4. Interview Preparation

Mock interviews are conducted in subject-specific formats, including:

  • Academic interviews with unseen materials
  • Problem-solving and logic questions
  • Tutorial-style discussion and feedback

Sessions are designed to simulate real Oxbridge interviews and develop confidence under pressure.

5. Personal Statement Support

Students are guided to:

  • Craft personal statements that reflect depth and authenticity
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and academic readiness
  • Highlight relevant reading, research and reflection

Integrated with Electus

Many Oxbridge applicants at Collingham Kensington are also members of the Electus Programme, benefiting from academic extension seminars, public speaking workshops, and peer discussion that further enhance Oxbridge readiness.
