Welcome
Founded in 1975, Collingham Kensington is an independent, co-educational college offering a dynamic and personalised education from Year 9 through to Sixth Form. Our mission is to empower individuals to uncover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and realize their potential with confidence. While fostering academic excellence, we are steadfast in promoting personal integrity, responsibility, and the highest standards of achievement.
At Collingham, students benefit from expert tuition, a structured approach to learning, and a nurturing environment that encourages growth. With around 200 students aged 13 to 19 from diverse backgrounds and abilities, our community thrives on inclusivity and ambition. Many of our students begin their journey with us at GCSE level and seamlessly transition to A Levels. We also offer online tuition, providing flexible options for modern learners.
Our A Level department is nestled in the heart of Kensington, overlooking a charming garden square. This prime location offers access to world-renowned cultural and academic institutions, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Imperial College, and the Natural History Museum. Our Sixth Form campus occupies a historic Arts and Crafts townhouse, once Gibbs’ Preparatory School, which has been dedicated to education for over a century. Distinguished alumni who have passed through its doors include Robert Kennedy, Lord Snowdon, Prince Edward, Viscount Linley, and Christopher Robin Milne, the inspiration behind Winnie the Pooh.
The GCSE and Year 9 campus, situated near Kensington Square, is steeped in literary history. It occupies the former home of William Makepeace Thackeray, where he penned his celebrated novel, Vanity Fair, and had regular visits from distinguished guests, including all three Brontë sisters.
Collingham bridges the best attributes of a small country school with the vibrancy and cultural richness of central London. We are proud members of The Council for Independent Further Education (CIFE) and the Independent Schools Association (ISA), institutions which share our commitment to excellence in student-led education.
Join us at Collingham and experience a professional, secure, and bespoke learning environment that equips students to excel academically and personally in an ever-evolving world.
