Every Collingham student is assigned a personal tutor who oversees their academic and personal development. The tutor offers encouragement and guidance, while also providing clear direction when needed. They stay in close contact with subject tutors and parents, ensuring that each student receives consistent, responsive support.
We monitor attendance closely, and parents are informed of absences or repeated lateness. Reports from both subject and personal tutors are issued twice a term, and regular Parents’ Evenings provide opportunities for in-depth discussion. Parents are also welcome to arrange individual meetings at any time.
Our timetable is designed to reflect both structure and flexibility. A level students are trusted to manage their free periods responsibly, with guidance from their tutors. If a student struggles to meet deadlines or keep pace, study periods can be added to offer additional support.
Supporting Every Student
Some students benefit from additional support, and we provide this with care and discretion. Study Skills sessions are built into our curriculum at both GCSE and A level, and can be tailored for students who need extra help developing focus, organisation, or revision techniques.
We have a dedicated dyslexia specialist on staff, and our EFL tutors offer targeted support for international students preparing for university-level study in English. Where personal challenges arise, we can advise students on accessing counselling or other wellbeing support.
