On the 24th April, the Collingham Football Team played at the prestigious St George’s Park, base to the England football team.
The annual CIFE football tournament attracted fourteen colleges fielding very strong teams. The initial phase of the competition comprised of two groups of eight. Collingham performed to an exceptional standard, winning their group with a record of five wins and one draw. Notable performers included Ben, who scored arguably the goal of the tournament, while Arjun in goal made a number of ‘cat-like’ saves. Unfortunately, the team’s first loss of the day came in the knock out stages, which meant it was time for the long journey back down the M40. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic day out for everyone involved, with plenty of reasons for the boys to be very proud of their achievements.
