Collingham was excited to host a 'WE Charity' talk last week. Students had the chance to hear about the charity and see if they wanted to get involved and make a difference.
WE is a movement that exists with the purpose to make the world a better place, through campaigning on issues ranging from homelessness, to the environment, to hunger. It empowers people to change the world, gives them the tools to do this, and brings people together. It is made up of millions of passionate youth, women and men working together to shift the world from “me” to “we.” The talk gave students at Collingham a lot to think about with regards to their social positions in the world, and the many ways in which they can make a difference and impact on the lives of others.
It also helped them to consider the skills they can develop in the process, and how these can be transferred to other areas of their lives. We hope that students consider getting involved in WE or similar charities which seek to improve the world for those who are less privileged than ourselves.
